Odd Interlude: An Odd Thomas Book

If you follow the Odd Thomas series, by Dean Koontz, then you know he has a new book out in the series, Odd Apocalypse. What you might not know is that there is also a set of novellas that are part of the series as well called, Odd Interlude. I had been looking for these forever in paperback, but could only find them on the ereader. So finally I broke down and bought all three of them. I am so glad I did, because these three novellas actually come in the story after book four, and before book five. I just thought they were some kind of a spinoff to Odd Thomas, but they are not, they are actually part of the storyline. Though there are a few new interesting characters introduced, that I hope will become their own novel spinoffs. I have no idea why Dean Koontz made these ones three different novellas instead of one novel. They are short, easy reads and I really enjoyed them. I am 3/4 of the way done with Odd Apocalypse and it is so good now, I can hardly put it down. If you are a Dean Koontz fan, Odd Thomas is the softer, gentler side to Koontz characters. He is smart, funny, kind and oh yeah he can communicate with the dead. He really is a wonderful character that Koontz invented.

The Dead Town

I waited for what seemed like forever for the fifth book in the Frankenstein series, to come out in paperback. Finally it came to my local Walmart and I have finished it. This is the last book in the series, and for the most part I loved them all. The fourth book was a bit of a drag on, but the first three were awesome. This fifth book built you up and built you up, but I found the climax to be very anti-climactic. It just kind of went poof for me, rather than wow that was awesome! You need to read the fifth book to see how it all ends. Next on my list is to catch up on the Odd Thomas series. I read four, I think there are six all together.

Dean Koontz: Lost Souls

This is the fourth book in the Frankenstein series, by Dean Koontz. I am going to be entirely honest here, he should have stopped at three. The first three were amazing, and very well done, this one stinks. I am having a hard time getting through it. Granted it is setting us up for a whole another set of books in the series, but it is just awful. No excitement at all. It is humorous, I will give it that, with a whole new set of characters, but really just boring. The fifth book, or number 2 book in this new set, will be out very soon. I hope it will be better than this one.

Happy Veteran's Day and 44 Days Until Christmas

Veterans Day Comments and Graphics for MySpace, Tagged, Facebook
Share Comments & Graphics - Layouts - Photobucket

Only 44 days left until Christmas. Here is the gift idea for today. Do you have an avid reader in your family? I have personally read this set, there are four books in the set, and it is fantastic. A new style of writing for Koontz, in my opinion, and very good. Get the Frankenstein books as a gift.
